The aptly named Get Fit Hair is run by Rhonda Vaáfusuaga based in Mosgiel’s Olympic Gym.

She opened the business in October 2020 and offers women’s, men’s and children’s hair cuts. Experienced hairdresser and Mosgiel born and bred, Jen O'Çonnell joined the ranks in May, 2021.

Rhonda brings a total of 36 years’ hairdressing experience in the industry. Part of that experience included running her own hair salon in Fairfield for 10 years. She is in step with today’s modern cuts and hair products.

“Over the years I’ve become aware of the nasty chemicals in hair products, colours. My products are paraben and sulphate-free. You can’t have a colour without chemicals but it is less and it’s vegan.”

Jen O'Connell started her hairdressing career in Mosgiel and 30 years later has returned. She specialises in cutting and coloring. Both Rhonda and Jen agree consultation with the client is the key.

"The consultation is huge and making sure you're on the same page with them," says Jen. "Working with what's going to work on their hair. There's no good a client showing you a picture and you thinking that's cool but your hair is not going to do that but you do it anyway."

Get Fit Hair is open Monday to Saturday, late night Tuesday and potentially Thursday if needed.
